Celebrate the annual Saint Lucia Dive Fest at Anse Chastanet and Scuba St Lucia!

Anse Chastanet Resort in Soufriere, Saint Lucia and their scuba operation Scuba St. Lucia have created a week of special activities in celebration of Saint Lucia’s annual Dive Fest.

The dive fest at Anse Chastanet will celebrate everything about Saint Lucia’s marine life and diving, with a week full of boat and shore dives, PADI courses and photographic competitions.

There also will be an environmental edge to the week with offerings such as the PADI Dive against Debris Specialty.

The week’s activities include an eradication day of the invasive lionfish followed by a cooking demonstration and special dinner feast of these lionfish prepared by Anse Chastanet’s culinary team.

Guests participating in the DIVE FEST get treated to a JAZZY sunset cruise as part of the Dive Fest package for a close-up of the magnificent Pitons twin peaks whilst sipping on rum cocktails and looking for whales and taking pictures of the dolphins who often like to swim along.

For those with non-diving family members, Anse Chastanet offers an array of other activities - from biking to sailing, kayaking to bird watching or simply chill on the beach or try out the complimentary sunrise and sunset yoga classes. As part of the DIVE FEST special activities, non-divers staying at Anse Chastanet can try a scuba beginner's course for free.

The special Dive Fest package includes:

7 nts run of house accommodation, airport transfers, breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner, all tax/service, welcome drink and culinary amenity on arrival, participation in the Dive Fest special activities,12 beach or boat dives incl of tank, weights, belt, mask, snorkel, fins ( other equipment at a charge if needed, marine park fee to be paid locally ), sunrise and sunset yoga, non motorized watersports. Non Diving companion Dive Fest package includes welcome and farewell dive fest party, Lionfish Feast Dinner, Jazzy Sunset cruise, a jungle biking tour and optional scuba beginner’s course for free.

A marine park fee of US 15 is to be paid locally. The package is available to certified divers. Please bring your c cards with you. As you are aware certain medical conditions prevent you from diving. This is our most favorably priced dive package. Run of House accommodation means that no specific room category is confirmed or guaranteed to you. The assignment of a room will happen at check in and could be any of the 4 hotel categories. In most cases a superior room will be assigned. Should you wish to secure a specific room type we would need to base your reservation on our CORAL KALEIDOSCOPE package which is similar in nature, but is priced by room type.

16 - 23 September - Dive Fest Schedule

September 16 - Arrival Day

Arrive and settle into your Anse Chastanet room. In the evening, we will host you for a dive themed cocktail reception. At this time we will provide an orientation to the hotel and dive shop for those participating in the dive fest and our in house dive groups. Discussion of the week scheduled ahead, and photo competition rules/categories and prizes announced!

September 17

8:30am - Check in at Scuba. Start off your diving week with a dive from the shore on the Anse Chastanet wall and marine reserve. Get to know your crew that will take care of your needs for the entire week.

10:30am - Shore dive

12:30pm - Lunch at the Anse Chastanet Beach bar!

2:00pm - Boat dive

4:00pm - Free Nitrox and certification class for those whom have completed elearning prior to arrival. Free Nitrox diving for the remainder of the week!

September 18

9am - Two tank dive to 2 different dive sites. Surface interval spent at the beach with cut fruits and pastries!

1pm - Lunch at the world famous Anse Mamin beach!

2:30pm - Complimentary Photo seminar/master class by in house award winning Photographer, Bernd Rac. Meet in the conference rooms where the seminar will focus on composition and achieving the best shot possible! A great learning experience for all photography levels and set ups, from point and shoot to DSLR’s.

6pm - Night dive on the Anse Chastanet Reef. Dive lights and glow sticks included in the Diver Fest package.

September 19

9am- Two tank dive to 2 different dive sites

1pm - Lunch at the Anse Chastanet Beach bar!

2pm - Dive against debris Specialty course! Participate in an underwater clean up and achieve the Project Aware Dive against Debris Specialty ( optional) ! For those who do not wish to obtain the specialty – come long and participate in this great event anyway! A very fun and rewarding dive! Photos and video of the event will be taken and given complimentary to participants. Free of charge to those participating in the clean up dive only. A Surcharge of $35(US) plus tax and service charge applies for those who wish to obtain the specialty rating. Remember this specialty contributes towards your PADI Master Scuba Diver rating!

6pm - Fish slideshow at Scuba!

6:30pm - Complimentary guest welcome cocktail party at the beach bar!

September 20

9am - Two tank dive to 2 different dive sites

1pm - Lunch at the Anse Chastanet Beach bar!

1:30pm - Discover Scuba Diving available for any non diving guests or partners of divers enrolled in the dive fest.

2pm - Lionfish specialty class for those who wish to join Thursday’s events and do not yet hold the PADI’s lionfish specialty rating- Completion of the PADI Invasive Lionfish Specialty course included in package. We will learn about the lionfish issue in the Caribbean

6pm - Night dive on the Anse Chastanet Reef. Dive lights and glow sticks available to rent at the dive store!

September 21

9am - Two tank dive for lionfish culling

Spend your 2 morning dives tackling the problem of invasive lionfish in our waters. Don’t worry your hard work will be rewarded when you enjoy a lionfish feast for dinner!!! Limited spaces are available to participate. Divers must:

• Hold the PADI Invasive Lionfish specialty card or equivalent
• Must be 18 years and older
• Dive at a ratio with a dive leader of 4:1
• Demonstrate through the week leading to the event proficient buoyancy skill.

9am - Two tank dive for those who do not wish to participate in these events.

1pm - Lunch at the Anse Chastanet Beach bar!

2pm - Optional dive on the Anse Chastanet wall or take the afternoon to get some beach time or enjoy other excursions!

4pm - JAZZY SUNSET CRUISE: Soak up the sunset on our Double Decker catamaran complete with open bar, canapés, and live jazz musician. This sunset cruise will take you around the pitons, and out to sea to look for whales and dolphins! Cruise ends around 6:30 pm

7:30pm - Lionfish feast dinner

We serve a multi-course dégustation menu with paired New World wines, in which we showcase the quality and taste of this very unique fish.

September 22

9:30am - Two tank dive venturing to the northern side of the island. Here you will dive the Lesleen M Wreck- sunk for over thirty years!

1pm - Lunch at your leisure and afternoon for pleasure!

6pm - Farewell Cocktail party! Photo competition winners announced! Slideshow of the week’s top photos.
